Anadolu Medical Center to set Global Standards in Interventional Oncology
Anadolu Health Center has become a member of the International Interventional Oncology Services Accreditation System (IASIOS). Thus, Anadolu Health Center has a say in determining the standards in the field of interventional oncology; in other words, it is among the 5 authorized centers in the world that determine the standards that must be met to receive accreditation in the field of “interventional oncology”.
1- What is IASIOS accreditation? Why is it important and what does it contribute?
The International Accreditation System for Interventional Oncology Services (IASIOS) is a quality and recognition document for interventional oncology services implemented according to the standards of the European Association of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology. The aim of IASIOS is to document better patient care, establish and monitor quality indicators, and encourage the development of oncological interventions.
2- How does the accreditation process work?
If the centers successfully fulfill the basic and extended requirements, they are first granted the title of "Accredited Center" by IASIOS for four years and then "Center of Excellence". will be given a seal.
3- How many hospitals are members of IASIOS in the world?
There are currently five IASIOS registered hospitals. There is one hospital from England, two from Australia, and one from France, while Anadolu Health Center from Turkey has become one of the hospitals that have qualified to take part in the pilot phase as a result of CIRSE and IASIOS evaluations.
4- How was the decision to participate in this initiative made?
The decision to participate in this initiative was made with the common sense and contribution of the Anadolu Health Center General Director, Anadolu Health Center Interventional Radiology physicians, Anadolu Health Center Radiology Department Director, Anadolu Health Center Oncology Sciences Coordinator, Anadolu Health Center Quality and Patient Safety Director and Anadolu Health Center Medical Services Director.
5- What criteria do hospitals need to meet to receive accreditation in the field of Interventional Oncology?
For this, candidate centers must be able to demonstrate their quality standards in interventional oncology in the inspections conducted following their applications. These include personnel and hospital facilities, treatment planning and delivery; safety and quality standards. Sufficient evidence including all requested documents or records regarding this data is provided.
6- What advantages does IASIOS membership offer to Anadolu Health Center and its patients? Why is it important for Turkey?
Anadolu Health Center has once again demonstrated its determination to provide high quality care in accordance with the European Association of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Standards and cancer patients.
Interventional radiology, which provides minimal treatment of a wide variety of diseases with image guidance, has now begun to be recognized as a different area of expertise.
