Full Marks for Anadolu Medical Center from Johns Hopkins Medicine!
Every year, the "Partner's Forum" meeting is held, bringing together hospitals affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine in the United States. On October 25, 2016, the meeting took place at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, with 18 hospitals collaborating with JHM from around the world attending. During this meeting organized by Johns Hopkins, each institution applied to present its significant works.
As Anadolu Medical Center, we applied to present our project on "Increasing Compliance with Safe Surgical Processes," led by Dr. Hişam Alahdab, the Assistant Medical Director for Clinical Quality and Patient Safety, and our application was accepted. We were then selected for an oral presentation from the accepted submissions.
Dr. Hişam Alahdab stated that our work garnered great interest, saying, "We received awards for the work presented in the 'Patient Safety' category, and independently of categories, we won the first prize for our project on 'Increasing Compliance with Safe Surgical Processes.' This means that among all the works presented, we came in first place as Anadolu Medical Center. Being deemed worthy of this award by Johns Hopkins Medicine is very important for us. As an institution, we place great importance on Clinical Quality and Patient Safety, and we emphasize this at every opportunity. We also conduct scientific and academic studies to improve our clinical quality and patient safety. We see the effectiveness of these studies in practice, and it is extremely gratifying that we are recognized and appreciated for sharing these experiences on national and international platforms. Now, Anadolu Medical Center is known, recognized, and becomes a focal point within the Johns Hopkins community, particularly for its successful projects, and our name is frequently mentioned worldwide. This is very valuable for us."
Undoubtedly, this is a team effort, and we congratulate the Clinical Quality and Patient Safety team, along with the teams in Surgery, Anesthesia, Operating Room, and Strategic Planning and Performance Development, who contributed to this work.
