Is every lump under the armpit cancer?
The liver, one of the largest internal organs in the body, helps produce the enzymes necessary for vital functions.
The liver, one of the largest internal organs in the body, helps produce the enzymes required to perform vital functions. Known as liver detoxification in popular culture, this process allows the organs to renew themselves, according to Anadolu Health Center General Surgery Specialist Prof. Dr. Süleyman Yedibela. "If we take care of our liver and change our lifestyle, effective detoxification will allow the organ to renew itself. Changing lifestyle and dietary habits is very important for liver health," he explained. Prof. Dr. Süleyman Yedibela shared ways to protect our liver...
The consumption of certain foods directly affects the organs. Particularly, fruits and vegetables are beneficial for liver health. Grapefruit, a citrus fruit, has a detoxifying effect on the liver. The bitter substances in grapefruit increase the production of liver enzymes that assist in fat digestion and support detoxification. In addition to grapefruit, lemon and other citrus fruits also stimulate liver enzymes and, with their high vitamin C content, strengthen the immune system, helping to minimize liver damage.
Vegetables are rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Certain vegetables, such as broccoli, radishes, artichokes, asparagus, tomatoes, and peppers, activate detoxifying properties in the liver. All cruciferous vegetables are essential for repairing liver cell structures. Additionally, these alkaline vegetables help eliminate toxins while contributing to a balanced acid-base balance in the liver through their detoxifying properties.
Walnuts, avocados, olive oil, chia seeds, and almonds are also effective in liver detoxification. Thanks to their amino acids and L-arginine content, they have cleansing effects.
Spices such as garlic, turmeric, and ginger activate liver enzymes due to their components. They prevent the growth of cancer cells in the liver. Garlic supports the removal of toxins from the liver. Additionally, turmeric and ginger, commonly used in Asia, have antioxidant effects. On the other hand, they stimulate the formation of liver enzymes, facilitate toxin absorption, and thus help the liver eliminate toxins more effectively. Research shows that spices like turmeric and ginger reduce the symptoms of liver damage and have a preventive effect against cancer.
