Should Laser Hair Removal Be Done During Adolescence?
Stretch marks are tears that occur in the dermis layer of the skin when the skin is overstretched. The main cause of stretch marks is hormones. Therefore, changes such as pregnancy, puberty, rapid weight gain, and sudden weight loss, which are accompanied by hormonal changes, can cause stretch marks on the skin.
Stretch marks are tears in the dermis layer of the skin caused by the skin being overstretched. The primary cause of stretch marks is hormones. Therefore, changes such as pregnancy, puberty, rapid weight gain, and sudden weight loss, which are accompanied by hormonal changes, can cause stretch marks. As commonly known, rapid weight gain or loss, or sudden muscle development resulting in skin stretching, do not cause stretch marks. The real cause of stretch marks is hormones.
The symptoms of stretch marks are quite noticeable. They appear as reddish, torn-looking marks on the body, which gradually turn white and become thin scars over time.
Stretch marks, which are difficult to treat, can be addressed with roller therapy. This method triggers the body’s wound healing mechanisms, resulting in the synthesis of new collagen. Roller therapy, used for skin rejuvenation, acne scar treatment, and stretch marks, involves a medical device called a roller. When applied to the skin, the needles on the cylindrical drum of the roller create micro-channels on the skin's surface. These channels can be thought of as pathways that open under the skin. During the procedure, the epidermis, the protective layer of the skin, is not harmed, and thousands of tiny openings are created beneath the surface. These openings naturally close within 15 minutes, triggering the release of growth factors in the skin and increasing collagen and elastin production. As a result, the overall quality of the skin tissue, as well as the skin's brightness and firmness, improves. This treatment helps the patient achieve a younger and healthier appearance while causing no damage to the uppermost layer of the skin. This means the patient does not need to take time off from their social or professional life. The procedure does not cause sensitivity to sunlight, so there is no risk of pigmentation. The number of sessions varies from patient to patient, and the duration of treatment depends on the severity of the issue, the depth of the scars, and the individual's response to healing.
For stretch marks that are not yet too pronounced, cosmetic treatments that moisturize the skin can be used. Regular treatments such as peeling, laser, microdermabrasion, and mesotherapy are recommended. However, it should not be expected that skin stretch marks will completely disappear. Although many treatment methods have been developed to improve stretch marks, there is currently no method that completely eliminates them. However, with certain treatments, the appearance of stretch marks can be somewhat reduced. When stretch marks turn white, the effectiveness of treatments is somewhat reduced. In the case of white stretch marks, the treatment's ability to eliminate the marks decreases. The results of the treatment vary depending on the skin's structure.
